The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) delegation does not intend to visit the temporarily occupied Crimea.

OSCE press-secretary Thomas Rymer stated about it, as TASS agency reports.

Earlier, the Russian newspaper Izvestia noted that the OSCE representatives would visit Crimea, referring to the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) as a source of information. The purpose of a trip is to assess the situation with human rights on the annexed peninsula. However, it was not confirmed.

OSCE spokesman Thomas Rymer commented to TASS agency on the information inaccuracy.

«Izvestia snatched the quote out of the context to make a false statement,» said Raymer.

He added that visiting Crimea by the OSCE representatives is possible only upon the Ukrainian authorities’ invitation.

«We have said that we are always ready to organize a visit and assess the situation on human rights in this region, but only upon the Ukrainian authorities’ invitation. We are not preparing any mission now and have not changed our opinion,» he highlighted.

On July 11, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopted the Berlin Declaration and a number of resolutions, including the resolution on human rights violations in Crimea occupied by Russia.
