Oleg Sentsov: Everyone sees what he wants to see (LETTER)
Political prisoner Oleg Sentsov currently serving a sentence in a strict-security colony in Labytnangi wrote a letter to Ukrainian actress Rimma Zyubina.
The actress published a letter on Facebook.
Sentsov spoke about the difficulties of communication with him, about the long process of censoring letters and queue for telephone calls.
«Do not be surprised that response comes slowly. It is not the usual email that arrives to my laptop! :) First, the censor and other interested persons read, then print and give it to me probably not on the same day. So, I write my answer, and the procedure is repeated. Overall, if the response comes in a week, it is the normal speed for this system, whereas the ordinary letters from Ukraine is delivered during a month and otherwise,» Sentsov writes.
The political prisoner also said he felt fine on his 51st day of the hunger strike (Oleg Sentsov sent a letter on July 3, 2018, and it was 51 day of starving – ATR).
«I feel fine, despite 51st days, certainly not as awesome as some authorized human rights activists may seem my health. Everyone sees what he wants to see,» the Ukrainian prisoner said.
On May 14, Oleg Sentsov began his indefinite hunger strike demanding to release all Ukrainian political prisoners. He has already been starvin for 57 days. After the meeting with Sentsov on July 5, his sister Natalia Kaplan told that he lost 15 kg weight, his health is now satisfactory and the analyzes were not very good, but «there is nothing critical».
In May 2014 in Crimea, Russian special services detained Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, activist Alexander Kolchenko and several other Ukrainians. They were accused of terrorism and sentenced Sentsov to 20 years in a strict-security colony and Kolchenko to 10. Oleg Sentsov is being held in Labytnagi colony in Tyumen region, and Alexander Kolchenko is Kopeysk colony in Chelyabinsk region, Russia.
