On Wednesday, April 5, the so-called Supreme Court of Crimea dismissed the lawyer Nikolay Polozov’s appeal against extending the arrest of deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Akhtem Chiygoz.

During a hearing the court decided to expel the defendant for his violating the procedure and disconnected the broadcast due to which Chyigoz participated in a court session, as a correspondent of the «Informational Center on Human Rights» said.

According to him, the chamber including Yuriy Gritsenko, Sergey Rubanov and Timur Slezko behaved scandalously and aggressively during the complaint consideration.

The court refused challenging the prosecution representative Andrey Kaltyrin who did not show his head’s order about his appointment to this process. Akhtem Chiygoz responded to that and in response the judges remarked first and then secondly remarked «about the violation of public order in the court session». Afterwards the court decided to expel Chiygoz from the courtroom despite the fact that he was not present at the court but distantly took part.

Also the judges made a remark to the lawyer Nikolay Polozov and decided to continue a hearing without Akhtem Chiygoz and Nikolay Polozov.

«The defendant’s lawyer Nikolay Polozov was expelled from the courtroom and was given a private ruling, Chiygoz was disconnected from the video broadcast on air, and the second lawyer Alexander Lesovoy’s request to expel him from the trial as his defendant refused him had dismissed», the correspondent said.
