Political prisoners Degermendzhi and Asanov released under house arrest in Crimea

On Thursday, April 6, the Crimean court changed the restraint measure to the figurants of case «February 26», Mustafa Degermendzhi and Ali Asanov. The Crimean Tatars released under house arrest.

The lawyer Edem Sememlyaev wrote on Facebook.

«Ali Asanov and Mustafa Dedermendzhi were changed the restraint measure to the house arrest», he reported.

To remind some facts, at the end of December 2016, the court extended the restraint period for the political prisoners Degermendzhi and Asanov. The Crimean Tatars were kept in jail until April 7, 2017.

On July 20, 2016 the so-called Kyiv District Court in Simferopol had divided the case «February 26». Now Akhtem Chiygoz is judged separately from the rest of the accused detainees, Ali Asanov and Mustafa Dedermendzhi, and others who are liberated, Eskender Kantemirov, Eskender Emirvaliyev and Arsen Yunusov. They are threatened with prison for allegedly organizing a rally at the walls of the Supreme Council of Crimea on February 26, 2014. Chiygoz as a main figure might be sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment.
