The World Congress of Crimean Tatars executive board member Ervin Ibragimov was kidnapped in the occupied Crimea on eve 24 May, 2016. It is still known nothing about his whereabouts a year later.

Ervin Ibragimov called his father and asked about the car documents around 11 p.m. on 24 May, 2016. As it found out later, law enforcement officers stopped him that day. Next morning, Ervin's parents found their son’s car parked open at the entrance, where he lived. On the same day, Ibragimov had been abducted. Despite all available video materials and facts about the several days surveillance before committed the crime, nothing is known about Ervin's fate today.

His father Umer Ibragimov and activists on their own collected and provided videotapes from the crime scene, the documents thrown after the abduction and Ervin's suspicions about surveillance.  Father doesn’t cease to believe in his son’s returning.

In October 2016, Ervin’s mother Lilya sent a letter to the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, asking for help in investigating her son’s abduction.

“I trust you will not refuse a request of the heart-broken physically challenged mother, who rises from her bed expecting to see and embrace her beloved son”, it was said in her letter.

In November 2016, Ervin's father appealed to the World Congress of Crimean Tatars  executive board members with a request to continue searching for his son. Umer Ibragimov said in his interview with ATR TV channel that “law enforcement officers” in Crimea were protracting the investigation of Ervin's abduction.

In March 2017, Umer Ibragimov presented evidence of a crime committed against Ervin Ibragimov at a press conference in the European Parliament. He showed the video where Ervin had been dragged into the car by people in uniform.

Umer Ibragimov told that unknown people watched his son on May 18, but Ervin associated it with mourning events holding on the peninsula related to Remembrance Day of victims of Crimean Tatar deportation.

Ibragimov said additionally that his son received threats on the eve of his kidnapping.

«I would like to contact you and find out what might help in this situation. There are many people like he (Ervin Ibragimov) in Crimea. It is a very large number», then Ibragimov stated.

Today Crimean Tatars and non-indifferent people will gather on Dua (rogation service) in Ibragimov’s house in Crimea, and in Kiev at the Russian Federation embassy the activists will run a campaign and show the film «Year without Ervin».

«Today at 18.00 there will be DUA (rogation service) at Ervin Ibragimov’s house. Exactly one year ago he was kidnapped. In his last telephone conversation with his father, Ervin asked about his car documents... Despite the fact that he had noticed recent surveillance, he did not doubt that law enforcement officers were standing in front of him. Otherwise, he would have warned his father by phone ... The videotape from the security desk located nearby the small store confirms the presence of law enforcement uniform on people ... The investigation is not «moving forward», but we continue to believe that Ervin will return ... This is what we will be asking today for ALLAH! »  the deputy chairman of Mejlis Ilmi Umerov wrote on Facebook.
