The so-called Supreme Court in Crimea continued considering the case «February 26» against Akhtem Chiygoz, the deputy chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, on Monday, July 24.

According to his lawyer Nikolay Polozov, Chiygoz’s defense filed several petitions, collected evidence, at today's hearing. The court refused all of them.

So the court particularly rejected to submit the report of international experts group on the events of February 26, 2014 to the case.

«The court refused to adduce this report explaining since a report had conclusions and assessments which were carried out exactly by the court in a chambers room», Polozov said.

Moreover the court refused to adduce the interrogation report of a chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, Refat Chubarov, to the case those performed in November 2016 and June 2017. Judges considered them as «pre-interrogation materials of admissible witness».

As you know, the chairman of the Mejlis Refat Chubarov consented to his interrogation as a witness during a meeting with Akhtem Chiygoz’s lawyer Nikolay Polozov in Kiev on May 19.

«I am one of those who can objectively witness in the case. The Russian legislation accords me immunity while staying in Crimea. It's all in case they officially call me evidence to court», Chubarov said.
