Ukrainian Andrey Kolomiets works in Crimean colony for 20 cigarettes packs per month

The Ukrainian political prisoner Andrey Kolomiets convicted in the occupied Crimea for 10 years of imprisonment works at an enterprise located nearby his colony.

According to human rights activists from the Crimean human rights group, Kolomiets received 20 packs of cigarettes in his first month of work.

The political prisoner’s wife, Galina Kolomiets after a meeting with him noted that Andrey had lost his weigh and got thinner.

«Now having 175 cm height the Ukrainian weighs only 60 kg. Within a few months Andrei lost 6 kg weight», she said.

Man works from 7 am. till 9 pm. As to Galina Kolomiets, despite his huge tiredness, work helps Andrey to pass his time in prison a bit easily.

«There are about 60 people now living in a prison cell with Andrey. There are some people who are hostile to Ukrainian for his political reasons. Kolomiets has to avoid conflict situations and ignore insults related to his nationality and citizenship», human rights activists stated.

Kolomiets is still suffering from his chronic diseases as psoriasis and high blood pressure. Galina Kolomiets said that Andrey complains on severe headaches and problems with stomach related to poor nutrition in the colony.

Earlier, in June 2016, the Crimean court condemned Andrey Kolomiets for 10 years of imprisonment. The Ukrainian was detained in Kabardino-Balkaria in May 2015 being suspected in possession of drugs. He was accused of allegedly attacking Berkut officers during the events on Maidan.
