The World Crimean Tatar Congress Executive Committee member, who was kidnapped in Crimea in May 2016, Ervin Ibragimov’s parents appealed to the President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, to personally investigate their son’s disappearance.

NGO Krym SOS published a copy of Ervin’s parents’ letter. This is the second letter to Poroshenko on behalf of Umer and Lilya Ibragimov with a request to help to find the perpetrators in the crime against their son.

«I am writing you for the second time. I appealed to you on October 1, 2016 for the first time, though not having waited for a response, I decided to write again. Petr Alekseevich, I ask your assistance for searching my son. We beg each of you, first and foremost being a parent, to take a personal control, not to ignore this resort and to assume all possible measures to identify the whereabouts of Ervin Umarovich Ibragimov kidnapped on May 24, 2016,» Ibragimov said.

Earlier, Lilya Alieva asked to make extra efforts to find her son Ervin Ibragimov.

«Mr. President, having a feeling of great anxiety, I appeal to you for my son’s and other abductees’ fates and rely on the additional efforts made to find and release them. We, parents of the abducted Crimean Tatars, are confident that their guilt is in immeasurable love for Ukraine and they are its true patriots.

Dear Petr Alekseevich,

I expect that you will not refuse a grief-stricken mother’s request, an invalid who rises from her bed hoping to see and embrace her beloved son,” Alieva wrote in her letter.

It found out in March 2018 that the Crimean law enforcement authorities suspended the investigation of Ervin Ibragimov’s kidnapping in September, 2017.

In November 2016, Ervin’s father appealed to members of the World Crimean Tatar Congress Executive Committee with a request to continue the searches. In an interview with ATR TV channel Ibragimov told that Crimean law enforcement officers were delaying the investigation on Ervin’s kidnapping.

In March 2017, Umer Ibragimov at a press conference in the European Parliament presented evidence of a crime committed against his son, Ervin Ibragimov. He showed the video showing how Ervin was taken into the car by people in uniform.

On the eve of kidnapping, on May 18, his son was watched by unknown people, but Ervin associated it with events related to the Remembrance Day for the Victims of Crimean Tatar genocide.

In addition, Ibragimov said that his son received threats on the eve of his kidnapping.

«I would like to appeal to you and find out what might help in this situation. There are a lot, such as he (Ervin Ibragimov) in Crimea. A very large number,» then Ibragimov stated.

As you know, Ervin Ibragimov was kidnapped in Crimea at night on May 24, 2016. Until today, despite the available video of the abduction, papers and messages with threats and surveillance on the eve of the crime, Ibragimov’s fate is still unknown.
