Public association «Crimean Solidarity» deems Crimean Tatars’ detention, Server Mustafayev and Edem Smailov, as «persecution for an active civil, religious and national position and intimidation of society as a whole».

The public association wrote it in its official statement on Facebook.

«Any goal of Russian security agencies’ work in Crimea is the suppression of any social activity aimed to cover the FSS and police aggression against the citizens of the Crimean society,» civil journalists stated.

«Crimean solidarity» appealed to media and human rights organizations to cover as much as possible the problem of Crimean Tatars’ persecution and «take all measures to compel Russia to respect the rights of illegally detained Server Mustafayev and Edem Smailov».

«Today in Crimea, none of those who has an active civil position and ready to publicly voice it, is not protected from pressure of Russian law enforcement agencies, harassment, intimidation, searches and arrests,»  the activists stressed out.

As to the website «15 minutes», it became known about the next searches in Crimean Tatars' houses in Crimea on May 21. The searches were held at houses of activists from «Crimean Solidarity», Server Mustafayev in Bakhchisaray and Edem Smailov in Dolinnoe village. In addition, there was information about another search, but it was not confirmed.

After the searches, Mustafayev and Smailov were detained and taken, presumably, to the FSS office in Simferopol.
