Terrorist attack in Kerch: victims’ number increased up to 21

The number of victims at the Kerch Polytechnic College after the tragedy has increased up to 21 people.

The Kerch administration deputy head Dilyaver Melgaziyev commented it in an interview to the journalists from the city mortuary where the victims’ bodies were placed to during the after-tragedy night and the identification procedure continued there as well, as Interfax reports.

«There are twenty dead. There brought not three people from college, as we expected, but four,» he announced.

One another girl died October 18 during evacuation to Russia.

In addition, the Kerch administration said that the identification procedure was finished for all 21 victims.

It is also known that 16 students (11 of them were under-age) and 5 adults died. According to preliminary data, all five adults were the college staff.

On Wednesday, October 17, 2018, an explosion occurred at the Kerch Polytechnic College. About 50 people were injured afterwards. Eyewitnesses reported that before the explosion, the shooting was heard in the building.

Later in the social network there appeared a video where the college students were trying to hide from shots in the building.

The Investigation Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation is investigating the incident as «killing of two or more persons in a generally dangerous manner». According to the IC, a senior college student 18-year-old Vladislav Roslyakov committed the murders in the educational institution.
