Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir case: Asanov and Belyalov were left under arrest

The Crimean Supreme Court in Simferopol rejected the Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir case defendant’s complaint against extending the arrest term on October 29, 2018.

The Crimean solidarity has informed about it.

A court upheld its decision to prolong Memet Belyalov’s and Marlen Asanov’s arrest term.

As to ATR, the court also left under arrest Seyran Saliev, Server Mustafayev and Timur Ibragimov.

Earlier, Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir case figurants, the Crimean Tatars Timur Ibragimov, Memet Belyalov, Server Zekeryaev, Seyran Saliev, Marlen (Suleiman) Asanov and Ernest Ametov were left in the pretrial detention center until December 9, 2018.

As you know, the Russian security forces conducted mass searches at the Crimean Tatars’ houses in Bakhchisaray on October 11, 2017. As a result, six people were detained. They are Timur Ibragimov, Memet Belyalov, Server Zekeryayev, Seyran Saliev, Marlen (Suleyman) Asanov and Ernest Ametov. The Crimean Tatars are accused of leading terrorist activity. Suleyman Asanov is judged as the organizer and the others as participants.

During mass searches on May 21, 2018, Server Mustafayev and one of the Crimean Solidarity coordinators and activist Edem Smailov were arrested in Crimea. Later, they were joined to the Bakhchisaray Hizb ut-Tahrir case.
