On Wednesday, 19 October, the lawyer Nikolay Polozov informed that «the court «began» to examine the first «witness» in a «case» of the deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Akhtem Chiygoz.

Before «the judges» announced the written material of «the case».

«The prosecutor has requested a technical break for 15 minutes, and then will begin examining the first prosecution witness in the case of Chiygoz - Ragimov Vadim Elmanovich»,  Polozov wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, the lawyer Nikolay Polozov suggested in an interview with the newsblog «15 Minutes» that a judgement would be passed on the «witnesses» arguments. According to him, there are five secret «witnesses» in case of Chiygoz.

«I consider when they interrogate witnesses approximately 2-3 people, based on their evidence the court will pass a judgement. There are five secret witnesses in case of Chiygoz. Why do they classify these witnesses? According to my experience, this happens when people give complicated and serious testimony against, and on its basis the court will make an appropriate decision. Even if 99 per cents of defendants will say the opposite, there will be 1 per cent enough for a court to rely on it formally in passing the judgement», the lawyer said.

To remind some facts, on 20 July, 2016 the so-called Kievskiy District Court in Simferopol divided the case of «February 26». Akhtem Chiygoz is now judged separately from the other defendants, Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermendzhi. They face prison for organizing a rally nearby the Supreme Council of Crimea on 26 February, 2014, meanwhile Chiygoz as the main accused person may be awarded for 10 years of imprisonment. The occupation authorities of the peninsula accuse the Crimean Tatars only. The victims are defined as the so-called representatives of the Crimean self-defense group.
