European website Booking.com offers the booking services of hotel suites in hotels in the occupied Crimea
The «15 minutes» reporter has checked and proved that booking the hotel suite in Yalta-Intourist Hotel through Booking.com system isn’t a problem.
Booking.com company is the world leader in an online booking place sphere which has its main office in Amsterdam (Netherlands) and its headquarters in Ukraine and Russia.
For now it might be easily booked the hotel suites through Booking.com website in the hotels in the occupied Crimea and Sevastopol.
The customer service stated to «15 minutes» website that Booking.com is a business agent between the hotels and clients who are ready to book the suite, and consider nothing illegal in its deeds.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ukraine has been informed about this situation from the «15 minutes» correspondent, and to get the official commentary we were advised to write the formal enquiry to. The Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons in Ukraine wasn’t also able to give any official comments on this topic.
To remind some facts, according to the Act of Occupied Territories in Ukraine it is forbidden any activity on the temporarily occupied territories that is liable to the governmental regulation (license, procurement of permitting documents, certification and other business activities), import and/or export the military goods, the railway, automobile, sea, river, ferry and air transportation. It is also forbidden the usage of public resources which includes natural, financial and credit; it is forbidden to implement any money transmission, funding or sponsoring and any other above listed activity.
Besides, the imposed by the West economical sanctions as a feedback to the illegal annexation of Crimea against Russia require the ban to any partnership with the Crimean enterprises.
