Rally in Support of Crimea Activist Umerov was held on Maidan in Kyev (VIDEO)
On Friday, August 26 there has been held a rally in support of Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov and other political prisoners.
The event took place on Kyiv's Independence Square on August 26.
During the rally there were listed all victims of the security forces in russian-occupied Crimea. They spoke about the repressive policy of the Russian Federation in the occupied peninsula: disappearances, assassinations, searches and seizures, arrests, and «the punitive psychiatry». They told about Umerov’s biography from his early age, which fought for freedom and the return to the native land of the Crimean Tatars.
At the rally spoke chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, the First Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar, the deputy Head of the Crimean Tatar TV channel ATR Ayder Muzhdabaev, the former political prisoner Gennadiy Afanasiev and others.
There was made a public requirement to the Ukrainian authorities to be more actively engaged in rescuing Putin's regime victims and especially Ilmi Umerov. They appealed to the international community to support de-occupation of Crimea and the liberation of the Putin's repressive machine victims.
A theatrical performance was shown. A nurse standing nearby the bed under the supervision of the FSB officer in a psychiatric hospital was reading quotes from the victims’ letters about their the loyalty to Ukraine and the struggle against the russian invaders. After that the nurse was repeating methodically: «Say you are wrong and we leave you alone».
