Chubarov: most Crimean Tatars won’t vote for the State Duma elections in the Russia Federation
Refat Chubarov emphasized that an issue of the State Duma illegitimacy should be considered at the international level.
Refat Chubarov, the head of Mejlis, the Crimean Tatars’ elected representative body, said in an interview with Ukrainian TV Channel 5.
«There is the thumping majority of perhaps all Crimean Tatars who won’t go to those polls. It is truth and we work over that. And people clearly realize some relevant points witnessed about that. Why shouldn’t they do it? It is an appeal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine but it’s not enough. We’ve tried and continued the work creating the relevant positions stated by such international powerful organizations as the European parliament and the Council of Europe, but here is the political vacation period. Perhaps these positions will be expressed beginning in September. We generally believe that the Russian delegation’s privileges of the Russian parliament in any international organization where they are presented as the members should be placed at issue. Due to the fact that its formation was brought to the occupied Crimea as well as the formation of the Russian parliament deputies», Chubarov said.
The head of the Mejlis said it would be absolutely justified position that the future State Duma’s staff won’t be legitimate.
«From my point of view, the assessment of the future Russian State Duma’s staff is absolutely justified. But whether such an assessment becomes the position of international organizations, I'm not sure for now, because some European countries take enough lobbying position regarding to Russia. I don’t think that they will step out to recognize the authority of the whole Russian State Duma’s illegitimacy within the issue point», Chubarov said.
