New «case»: Occupants summon Polozov for questioning
The lawyer Nicholay Polozov was summoned for questioning in a new criminal case against him.
The lawyer wrote about it on Facebook.
«So, on Monday I was called to the Central Investigation Department of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Crimea within the new criminal case against me. If you remember, at the end of January due to the Russian FSS investigator’s request in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol the officers kidnapped me nearby the hotel and took for questioning where the investigator Skripka I.A. persistently and under the protocol tried to find out from me about the circumstances of providing the legal aid to Ilmi Umerov. However, I refused because of the attorney-client privilege of this information and it may not be disclosed even to the investigator of the FSS. Thus, the FSS investigator Skripka I.A. informed his colleagues from the CI and they filed a preliminary inquiry under article 308 of the Criminal Code against me», he wrote.
To remind some facts, on January 25 Nikolay Polozov was illegally detained in Crimea to the FSS. The security services were trying to interrogate a lawyer as a witness in Umerov’s «case» to deprive him of the status of the defense. Polozov refused to give any testimony.
On February 14 the so-called Crimean Supreme Court rejected the lawyer’s appeal on the decision of the Kiev District Court of Simferopol to allow the Russian FSS investigator Igor Skripkin to interrogate him as a witness in Umerov’s «case».
