Pussy Riot members were detained after the rally in support of Oleg Sentsov
PussyRiot members, Maria Alekhina and Olga Borisova were detained the next day after the rally in support of the Ukrainian film director, Oleg Sentsov, in Yakutsk nearby the penitentiary colony #1.
«Mediazone» reported about that.
Alekhina and Borisova were taken to the police station on suspicion of committing an administrative offense as conducting an unauthorized action.
As the website «15 minutes» wrote, PussyRiot activists arranged a rally on support of the Ukrainian political prisoner Oleg Sentsov in Yakutsk (Russia) 7.5 km away from the IK-1 on August 6, 2017.
To remind some facts, the Russian special services detained the Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov, the activist Aleksander Kolchenko and several other Ukrainians in May 2014 in Crimea.
In August 2015, the North Caucasus District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don (Russia) illegally condemned the Crimean citizens. Sentsov was imprisoned for 20 years in a high security colony for «creating a terrorist group and setting the fire in the Crimean local offices of the political party «Edinaya Rossiya» (United Russia) and «Russian Community of Crimea», and Kolchenko for 10 years «for complicity in the terrorist attack».
Political prisoners are accused in Russia of «organizing the terrorist attacks» on the peninsula, and Sentsov is moreover incriminated the illegal possession of weapons penalty.
