Crimean Tatars’ open appeal: You won’t succeed in labeling us the terrorists (VIDEO)

Political prisoners’ and detained Crimean Tatars’ relatives in Crimea recorded their video message to the FSS of the Russian Federation, as well as to the Crimean government and the Russian Federation government on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

Amongst yesterday detained Crimean Tatars in Bakhchisaray, Refat Asanov’s father, Suleyman Asanov started the video appeal. He stressed that his son was not a terrorist.

«I would like the whole world community to know that no one will ascribe such words to us as a terrorist and an extremist. All that I would like to say, I am satisfied and proud of my son. His mother is in court now, and she is also proud of her son. We will wait till the end for our son, no matter how long it might be», he said.

«We openly declare that our husbands, our sons and our brothers are not, were not and will not be the terrorists. We have been living in the Crimea for more than 25 years. Throughout this time there was no extremism and no terrorism. These qualities are not Muslims’ thing. (...) We are tired of this lawlessness and injustice», the political prisoner and «Hizb ut-Tahrir case» figurant Muslim Aliyev’s wife Nadzhie said.

Meanwhile, a human rights activist Lilya Gemedzhi noted that the occupants won’t succeed in imposing the terrorists’ image to Crimean Tatars:

«This open appeal is addressed to the Crimean leadership, the head of the FSS of the Russian Federation in Crimea Palagin, and the Russian Federation’s leadership. The Crimean society is outraged by such lawlessness from security service’s side. You will not be able to impose the image of terrorists and to label it to Crimean Tatars. There are no terrorists among us. We live for more than 25 years in Crimea. We know each other and will never believe that there are terrorists among us. There are no terrorists among us. Islam does not call for terrorists among Muslims».

«No matter how much you carry on your boundless raids and searches, new people will come to the court building, court hearings, and this process will not be stopped», the activist summed up.
