Pashayev: Crimean occupants destroy Khan's palace (PHOTO)
The invaders removed the tiles from the Buiuk Khan Jami (Big Khan Mosque) building and damaged the 18th-century paintings and they spilled chemicals on a facade of the Khan Palace which caused cracks along the walls.
Journalist Osman Pashayev wrote it on Facebook.
According to him, the Khan's palace is collapsing. Ordinary builders unlike the specialists are working over the restoration of the universal significance historical and cultural monument.
«They removed from the Biyuk Khan Jami (Big Khan Mosque – «15 minutes») not only all the roof tiles (they just threw it and intend to throw it to Chufut-Kale), but the old oak beams under the pretence of their spoilage by the beetles.
The beams are huge and thick. And they have everywhere hammered nails. While the beams were removed by the truck crane, they damaged 18th century paintings on the facade (photo 1)
The whole facade was washed outside with Karcher which caused cracks, and right at the entrance near the gate the plaster fell down to the very stones, and the masonry was visible. This hole was immediately covered with cement, and the entire facade was covered with modern paint and putty.
The Alexander fountain was washed with Karcher! The pieces collapsed, they covered and now paint it with white modern color. Catherine's mile was also washed with oxalic acid and Karcher, the letters were showered. All paintings on the facades urgently reconstructed by ordinary workers! We don’t talk about restores at all. Instead of the collapsed wall in the Persian Garden they concreted it. According to the project around the part of the palace they put steel structure with a roof, under which the roof of the Divan Hall, the Golden Cabinet and other rooms should be moved. However, this design is simply awful — it's thousands of tons of iron, armature, crushed stone and concrete! The heaviness around the palace is huge. And when they dismantle this design, the palace will be just collapsed. There is a gossip that this design is for 20 years, and then money will be run out (by the way, over 100 million are spent and they are going to call Putin for a century anniversary to give more money). Palace fountains are washed with oxalic acid. The palace collapses right before our very eyes», he said.
Earlier it became known that the invaders in Crimea handed over to the republican property another historical and cultural monument of universal significance — the Khan Palace in Bakhchisaray.
In June 2016, the Crimean Tatar Ildar Ibragimov posted a photo of the Khan Palace, indicating that the world's only sample of the Crimean Tatar palace architecture was in an emergency condition. Activist Edem Dudakov then told the website «15 minutes» that the monument transfer to the occupation authorities property could negatively affect the restoration work.
«I do not know how this will affect the restoration work. The Khan Palace very much needs restoration work, since it is in an emergency condition. I doubt that something good will come of this», he said.
