A medical report on impossibility of keeping Degermendzhi in the pre-trial detention center is published
The activists published a copy of the medical report testifying that the political prisoner Bekir Degermedzhi on grounds of his health state couldn’t be detained in the pre-trial detention center.
The document says that Bekir Degermendzhi has a disease «which is included into the list of serious diseases that prevent any detention of suspects or accused of committing crimes».
Previously, the Crimean Tatar’s defense declared about the existence of such a medical report. In particular, lawyers provided a copy of this document at a court hearing on January 12, 2018. That day the judge did not take into account the certificate availability, as he disliked its copy not the original document, thus Degermendzhi was left in the pre-trial detention center. The certificate original meanwhile was already in the investigator's custody.
«The certificate original is in a hospital. It is issued only to the investigator. And the investigator at the court session confirmed that he had such a certificate. At that moment the judge quickly «injured» him and said: «Do not interfere into debates, discussions». So this is left aside. Nevertheless the investigator himself had to attach this certificate to the case materials. The investigator attached none of a single certificate of the health state», the lawyer Edem Semedlyaev explained later on.
As it is known, in Bekir Degermendzhi suffers from a bronchial asthma, he is a disabled person of the third group. He needs to periodically pass the medical examinations and take some medicine. At night on December 14, 2018, Degermendzhi was taken from the pre-trial detention center to the intensive care unit. The man had pulmonary edema, and his condition was assessed as severe.
Earlier the Kiev District Court in Simferopol on January 12, 2018, extended the Crimean Tatars’ detention, such as Bekir Degermendzhi, Asan Chapukh, Kyazim Ametov and Ruslan Trubach for another two months.
In Crimea on November 23, 2017, the FSS of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs detained Bekir Degermendzhi who is Mustafa Degermendzhi’s father, Kyazim Ametov, Asan Chapukh, Ruslan Trubach and Kurtseit Abdullayev. Another activist Elmira Gaziyeva-Baranova’s house was searched as well.
The invaders accuse the men of alleged «extortion» from a Turkish citizen. However, the Crimean Tatars tried to help the Vedzhie Kaška’s family to recover the money stolen by this Turkish citizen. A man is Yusuf Aitan, a Turkish citizen who stole a large amount of money from the Kashka’s family. According to the first deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nariman Dzhelyalov, the Russian special services used the Turk, or he himself went with them to cooperate in order to avoid the return of his debt.
The detained Crimean Tatars during the raiding cafe were together with Vedzhie Kashka. They came there at Yusuf Aytan’s request, who the day before promised to return his debt. During the round-up Vedzhie Kashka became ill. She was taken to the ambulance. On the way to the hospital, the woman died. She was buried on Friday on November 24, 2017. People from all over Crimea came to say goodbye to her.
