On March 14, the Kiev District Court in Simferopol extended Bekir Degermendzhi’s, Kyazim Ametov’s, Asan Chapukh’s and Ruslan Trubach’s detention until May 15, 2018.

The arrest term is again extended for another two months. The political prisoners’ defense intends to appeal against the decision to extend the preventive measure. The court hearing was held in open mode, and political prisoners’ relatives could get to the courtroom.

Earlier, during the meeting Bekir Degermendzhi felt sick. Lawyers highlight that Crimean Tatar’s health worsens. Degermendzhi is now kept in the predetention center medical unit, as well as Asan Chapukh. As the lawyer Ayder Azamatov noted, all the treatment is based there only on taking medicines delivered by the political prisoners’ relatives.

As to the website «15 minutes», on March 13, the judge canceled the decision to extend the preventive measure and decided to extend their arrest again.

According to the lawyers, Degermendzhi, Ametov, Trubach and Chapukh were kept in the pre-trial detention center on the basis of an illegal decision the previous two months.

On December 14, the lawyer Edem Semedlyaev informed that Bekir Degermendzhi from the predetention center was taken to the Simferopol hospital intensive care unit. Earlier the lawyer said that the prisoner had not slept for several days, since it was difficult for him to be in a supine position because detainee suffered from a bronchial asthma. He is a disabled person of the third group. Degermendzh needs periodic medical examinations and taking medicines.

At a court hearing on January 12, lawyer Edem Semedlyaev told about receiving a certificate, which states that Bekir Degermendzhi can’t be kept in custody. The paper proves Degermendzhi’s disease which is «included in the list of serious diseases preventing any detention of suspects or accused in committing crimes». The court ignored the certificate availability.
