Chiygoz spoke about Russia’s total terror against Crimean Tatars at the UNPFII (VIDEO)
Deputy Head of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars, Akhtem Chiygoz told the international community about the Russia’s repression against Crimean Tatars in the occupied Crimea at the 17th Session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) in New York on April 18, 2018.
The Crimean Tatars’ Mejlis’ member Gayana Yüksel posted video on Facebook.
«Russia has been conducting total terror in Crimea against the indigenous people for four years now. Thousands of people persecuted for not recognizing the occupation, hundreds of illegally convicted prisoners are serving long terms in the colony, more than 40 people were abducted by these bandits, some were found dead with traces of monstrous tortures. Here is just a small list of the lawlessness that Russia causes in the motherland of indigenous people», Chiygoz said.
Also, the Mejlis deputy head highlighted that the absence of any information on a plight of Crimean Tatars in the report of the current Special Rapporteur Indigenous peoples, Victoria Tauli Corpuz, allowed continuing to carry out terror and lawlessness against these indigenous people. Chiygoz invited her to come to Kiev, where she would be given «full information about the plight of the indigenous people».
«Dear Victoria, if you are not allowed coming to Crimea, then we are waiting for you in Kiev. We will provide you with full and complete information about the plight of the indigenous people. Crimean Tatars ask you to intervene and ensure the safety of residence in their homeland», said Chiygoz.
