On April 24, the Central District Court of Simferopol held a hearing on case «February 26» against the Crimean Tatars Ali Asanov, Mustafa Degermendzhi, Eskender Kantemirov, Arsen Yunusov and Eskender Emirvaliev.

During the meeting, the prosecutor demanded «February 26th» defendants to be found guilty and requested punishment for them in the form of a suspended sentence.

The lawyer Edem Semedlyaev commented on the ATR TV channel.

For Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermendzhi, the prosecutor requested a suspended sentence for 5 years with 3-years probation. For other figurants in case, as Eskender Kantemirov, Arsen Yunusov and Eskender Emirvaliev, the prosecution requested the suspended sentence for 3 and half years with 2-years probation period.

«This means that if they (the defendants – «15 minutes») behave themselves for two years, then their verdict will be ended. Three and half years will be taken into account if there happens another law violation,» explained Edem Semedlyaev.

Accordingly, Ali Asanov and Mustafa Degermendzhi will not have to commit other violations for three years if the court satisfies the prosecutor’s demands.

The court declared a break in the meeting. The next meeting will be held on 4 May 2018.

As to the website «15 minutes», on April 23 the court extended the house arrest term to Mustafa Degermendzhi and Ali Asanov until July 7, 2018.
