Crimean political prisoner Uzeir Abdullaev’s mother demands her son’s immediate hospitalization
Hizb ut-Tahrir case figurant Uzeir Abdullayev’s relatives declare about the critical Crimean Tatar’s health state in Crimea. He needs qualified medical care.
Currently, Abdullayev is in the medical unit of the pretrial detention center. Earlier his lawyers and human rights activists made it possible to transfer him there after numerous statements and publications in the media. However, as to Uzeir’s mother Dilyara Abdullaeva, who is a doctor, her son must be urgently hospitalized.
«My son’s health state is threatened with a thrombus rupture and generalized sepsis. He can die at any moment. Immediate hospitalization is required. People, I'm losing my son, help me! The medical unit is the same prison cell, and we urgently need to take him to the hospital!» said Dilyara Abdullayeva.
Earlier, political prisoner’s mother told that Uzeir had a wound on his left leg. He could be threatened with sepsis (blood poisoning). The man had a high temperature for several days, his leg swelled and turned red, and overall condition was accompanied by unbearable pain.
«He needs serious methods of treatment such as droppers, intravenous infusions, blood purifying, until resuscitation. Treatment in the pretrial detention center can hide the principle disease a little, though in several days, it suddenly bangs up and then it may be too late!» said mother.
According to her, Uzeir’s health in the pretrial detention center deteriorated in February:
«When they brought him to the court on February 11, I saw how hard he got out of the prison truck, and then barely went upstairs. Later it was found out that the legs swelled and were in purulent wounds. I visited a doctor in the pre-trial detention center. She said she would examine him, but in a week my son swelled like a ball, flushed and swelled to the elbow with a purulent abscess. Then he was taken out urgently to the hospital # 6 in Simferopol and operated. He was injected with large doses of antibiotics for 15 days. I asked them for droppers, but they ignored it. To all requests and complaints to hospitalize my son, they response: «We do everything ourselves».
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry demanded to allow the Ukrainian doctors to come and examine the political prisoner in a pretrial detention center. The ministry’s spokeswoman Maryana Betza wrote about this on Twitter:
«Illegally detained Uzeir Abdullayev is in critical condition in the prison of Simferopol. Clock is ticking fast. We demand the Ukrainian doctors’ admission».
Political prisoner’s wife, Fera Abdullaeva in turn thanked lawyers, human rights activists and empathic people for her husband’s fate.
Uzeir Abdullayev was detained in Crimea during the searches on October 12, 2016, as well as Rustem Ismailov, Emil Dzhemadenov, Ayder Saledinov and Teymur Abdullayev. Crimean Tatars are accused of having ties with Hizb ut-Tahrir organization.
On April 10, the Supreme Court of Crimea extended Ismailov’s, Dzhemadenov’s, Saledinov’s and Abdullayev’s arrest term until June 11.
