Crimean Tatars held a prayer service in Bakhchisaray (VIDEO)
Crimean Tatars held a prayer service (dua) in Bakhchisaray’s mosque on May 24. The World Congress of Crimean Tatars Executive Committee member Ervin Ibragimov was abducted on this day exactly two years ago. Until today, nothing is known about his fate.
Dozens of Crimean Tatars gathered in the mosque. This is the second prayer service held on Ervin Ibragimov’s kidnapping anniversary.
«We gathered for the 2nd anniversary of my son Ervin Ibragimov’s kidnapping. Recently there were hearings in court, where the lawyer filed a complaint on the Investigative Committee inaction in my son’s search. Both the court of first instance and the Supreme Court refused us. They considered us to be wrong,» Ervin’s father Umer Ibragimov said.
«We gathered here to pray for everyone’s sake and Ervin’s reunion with his family, to rejoice parents and see a smile on their faces a little bit,» said the political prisoners Bekir Degermendzhi and Mustafa Degermendzhi’s wife and mother, Alie.
After the prayer service, there passed Iftar near the mosque (Iftar is an evening meal during the holy month of Ramadan – «15 minutes»). Among the participants there was the Crimean Tatars Kurultay delegate Asan Egiz who was attempted to kidnap the day before.
«We held a dua in honor of our brother Ervin that everything was to be fine,» said Asan Egiz.
As to Mustafa Mustafayev, the prayers in honor of the disappeared Ervin Ibragimov were held in four places in Bakhchisaray.
Earlier, Ervin Ibragimov was kidnapped in Crimea at late night on May 24, 2016. Until today, despite the available video of the abduction, documents and reports on threats and surveillance on the eve of the crime, Ibragimov’s fate is unknown.
