100 days of Balukh’s hunger strike: Ukraine launches emergency aid action
On June 26th, on the 100th day of Ukrainian political prisoner Vladimir Balukh’s hunger strike there is launched emergency aid action.
The global campaign «Save Oleg Sentsov» volunteers started it. Its participants urge society to sign a petition with a number of requirements. In particular, there is to provide Balukh with medical assistance, organize his urgent meeting with the Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova and not to deport him outside Crimea, in case of indictment. In addition, the protesters demand an independent and prompt investigation of Balukh’s statement on ethnic humiliation done by the IVS head Valery Tkachenko.

You can take part in this action following several steps. Doing this, you should print out the letter template, sign it and send it to the three indicated addresses: the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation, as well as the Russian Ombudsman Tatyana Moskalkova’s reception.

As it is known, on March 19, the Ukrainian political prisoner Vladimir Balukh announced an indefinite hunger strike demanding to cancel the illegal sentence of imprisonment for 3 years and 5 months in the colony-settlement. After a month of hunger strike, he agreed to eat 2 glasses of oatmeal and 50-70 grams of rye biscuits a day.
On June 22nd, the Ukrainian decided to intensify his hunger strike. He refused food, but drinks water only. Vladimir Balukh continues his 100th hunger strike day.
