Russia turns Crimea into ecological disaster zone
The Russian occupation authorities turn Crimea into an ecological disaster zone.
The Maidan Foreign Affairs charity foundation expert Yury Smilyansky expressed such an opinion on the ATR TV channel.
«Crimea is slowly turning into one whole ecological disaster zone. Eventually, it will just exert in different ways in various regions. This is the core of outcome of the colonization policy in the occupied Crimea, which Russia is implementing there,» he said.
According to the expert, the occupants began to destroy the Crimean Mountains increasing the production volume of building materials. Some reservoirs and mountain rivers were left without water, and soil salinity is constantly growing.
«This process is developing exponentially. Green plantings are destroyed, woods and forest plantations are cut down. In other words, everything is almost gone in Crimea. It is a way of turning Crimea into a zone of one whole ecological disaster,» he concluded.
Smilyansky noted that the occupants did not protect the natural resources on the peninsula as it was not their territory. Crimea makes no difference.
