Eden Bekirov is in critical state
Lawyer Aleksey Ladin could not visit Edem Bekirov in a pre-trial detention center on August 13, because of a pinched nerve in his client’s spine.
Political prisoner’s daughter Eleanora Bekirova wrote it on Facebook today.
Edem Bekirov is experiencing severe back pain being provoked by the last court hearing. That day the political prisoner was taken from the custody to the Supreme Court of Crimea where he was under guard for 11 hours without food and water.
«Each transport in an unequipped and unappropriated for disabled people wagon truck is like a blow to his health which worsens day by day in the custody. I am even afraid to imagine what will happen if they take him in his state to the Krasnoperekopsky district. It is about two hours away!» — Eleanora Bekirova said.
Crimean Tatar urgently received painkillers. His daughter asked the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova for a help to use all available mechanisms to save her father.
«In Crimea my father is not provided with appropriate medical care as well as independent doctors are not allowed to see him. He cannot move himself, go to bed and a toilet and experiences excruciating pains when transporting in a wagon. Detaining a disabled person in such conditions is inhuman and amounts to torture and as violation of Article 3 of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. I am very afraid that the situation becomes irreversible. Every day in jail is a kind of slow death for my father. Each trip to a police station and a trial is torture», — daughter added.
On August 7, Eleonora Bekirova appealed to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky requesting to take all possible measures for liberating her father.
